This platform is a different one. Many other platforms we have covered are more for fun and to show your friends what you are doing, but LinkedIn is more focused on trying to find jobs and look way more professional than all the other platforms. Never heard about this platform until I started attending Ohio Northern. LinkedIn is a platform for a person to connect with people in hopes of securing a job with the person you connect with. For example, if you connect with a person in the accounting field, then maybe you can secure a career in the same field because you connected with this person on LinkedIn.
I recently just started my account on this platform. I do not know how to use LinkedIn, but this week we covered how to use this platform successfully, and it really helped me create a more professional. It was interesting to me how so many people use LinkedIn when there are other platforms, such as Handshake, to do roughly the same thing. But LinkedIn is the leading platform for these types of actions, so it makes sense why everyone asks about LinkedIn rather than Handshake. Even though we reviewed this platform in class, I still sometimes feel confused about how to use it. I am interested in learning more about how to use LinkedIn more professionally.
