Week 1 of the spring semester for my sophomore year is off and rolling. Coming into this semester, I took a risk and took 18 credit hours, usually 15. Doing this helps me finish school faster than usual.
The reasoning behind this is that I’m a sports videographer for our Ohio Northern Football Team. So, with that being said, in the fall, I am slammed with games and practices, let alone the editing that is required for most videos. A sports videographer is a person who goes to sporting events to record on a camera. Then those videos are uploaded to a social media account or accounts to be displayed for fans and recruits around the nation. This is the career field that I have selected, and I am genuinely passionate about it.
A way of just seeing the fans going nuts off a crazy play or the emotions the players show through the season gives me more than enough to post on ONU’s Football Twitter and Instagram.
My goal is to turn the work I’m doing for ONU to benefit my portfolio in the future for a division one or a professional team.
Lacrosse is something I’m going to try this spring. I’ve never watched that sport, so it’ll be a new world to discover and capture. I will also try to film basketball as I have background knowledge.
You can find me on Instagram or Tiktok at Coburn.Creations if you want to see some of my work. I post my sports videography and photography on those pages. I’d love for you to go and check them out.
