Facebooking

Facebooking

This week's chapter is about Facebook and how it can be used to help people or businesses grow. Only a little of what we read and discussed in class made much sense. I am a twenty-year-old college student who is not using Facebook daily or weekly. But many people do. In fact, there are nearly three billion monthly active users. The reading also includes the average age of active users from twenty-five to thirty-four years of age. So, in five years, I will be using Facebook more often.

All jokes aside, Facebook is a great tool to increase traffic to your business or page. Using videos and photos for your Facebook helps get your message out more directly than just adding the link to a post. This makes sense because why would someone want to first look at the link, then click on it and go to a different platform to watch it? The easier way would be to just post it directly on Facebook to allow people to watch it right through Facebook. The same goes for images, I would imagine too. If you just add the picture directly to Facebook without a link, it will be more received by your audience.

Reading and covering this chapter makes me wonder if I should be using Facebook now. It has many essential features that could benefit me in connecting to people in the long run. I'll maybe give it 5 more years before joining Facebook so I can be, on average, like many others.
